The story revolves around Nandini (Aishwarya Rai), a free-spirited, young woman living in a traditional Rajasthani household. She is the daughter of Pundit Darbar (Vikram Gokhale), a respected classical music teacher. As Nandini and Sameer spend time together during his music lessons, they gradually fall in love. However, their love remains unspoken, as they both understand the complexities and societal barriers surrounding their relationship. Sameer decides to leave India and return to Italy, thinking that it would be inappropriate to pursue his feelings for Nandini.

Back in Italy, Sameer's pining for Nandini grows, and he becomes deeply depressed. Unable to bear his condition, his best friend Vanraj (Ajay Devgn) decides to help him find happiness again. After learning about Sameer's love for Nandini, Vanraj volunteers to travel to India and bring her back to Italy so that Sameer can be reunited with the love of his life.

Vanraj arrives in Rajasthan and finds Nandini. He discovers the truth about her feelings for Sameer but decides to keep it a secret from her family. He convinces Nandini's father to let her visit Italy under the pretext of attending a music concert.

Once in Italy, Nandini and Sameer finally reunite. However, as Nandini spends more time with Sameer, she realizes that she has fallen in love with Vanraj, who has been selflessly supporting her and caring for her all along. Conflicted, she is torn between her feelings for Sameer, her childhood love, and her growing attachment to Vanraj, who has become an integral part of her life.
